Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Occupational Medicine
Oversees the patient's diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and/or injury. Prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury or may act as a consultant to identify workplace health hazards. Examines patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Recommends tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
