Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Nuclear Medicine
Uses radioactive materials to diagnose and treat disease. Monitors quality control of radionuclide preparation, administration and disposition, and ensures that all activities comply with the standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Instructs and directs nuclear medicine technologists regarding desired dosages, techniques, positions, and projections. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
