Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Pathology
Examines diseases by analyzing body fluids, tissues, and cellular samples through laboratory techniques. Prepares and selects tissue samples for analysis. Determines extent of disease and effectiveness of treatment. May perform autopsies. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
