| Requirements and Responsibilities For Physician - Emergency Room |
| Assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit. Examines patients, performs comprehensive examinations, and orders tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice. Typically reports to a medical director. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. |
