| Responsible for preventing and managing healthcare associated infections within a facility. Investigates and analyzes outbreaks of infections to identify the cause and implements appropriate control measures. Implements infection control protocols, monitors compliance, and educates healthcare staff and patients on infection prevention measures. May require a bachelor's degree. May require Certification in Infection Control (CIC). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager. Years of experience may be unspecified.
