| Requirements and Responsibilities For Resident Physician |
| Assesses, plans, and provides patient care under the supervision of attending physicians. Works closely with attending physicians to gain medical knowledge and experience with patients and procedures until all education requirements for the medical specialty have been completed. Examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data. Orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Responsibilities commensurate with level of training. Requires a MD. Typically reports to a physician. Years of experience may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. |
