| Requirements and Responsibilities For Physical Therapy Director |
| Directs and oversees the programs and staff of the physical therapy division and/or clinic. Evaluates current physical therapy programs and researches potential new or revised therapy programs to improve the quality of patient care. Develops and implements physical therapy policies, objectives, and initiatives. Reviews operational procedures to ensure standards meet regulatory compliance and follow industry best practices. Sets and implements guidelines for physical therapy programs. Monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Requires Certified Physical Therapist (CPT). Requires Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT). Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
