| Requirements and Responsibilities For Rate Analyst |
| Responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating service rates and charges for various public utilities. Builds financial models to test and propose changes to billing structures, pricing tiers, and rate schedules. Conducts cost of service studies by analyzing operating costs, expenses, and capital investments to figure out how much it costs to deliver energy to different customer groups. Ensures compliance with applicable Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) or state public utility commissions rules and regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Typically requires 4-7 years of related experience. |
