| Requirements and Responsibilities For Provider Relations Director |
| Directs and oversees the activities to support and foster positive relationships with healthcare providers within a network. Develops operational policies and procedures to resolve inquiries about referrals, eligibility, credentialing, and other policy matters and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Develops service relationships with physicians, providers, and administrators of a provider network to understand feedback and implement network improvements. Remains knowledgeable on industry trends and recruits healthcare providers to strengthen and grow the network. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
