| Requirements and Responsibilities For Power Line Maintenance Supervisor |
| Supervises the daily installation, maintenance, and inspection of power lines and related distribution equipment to support system reliability and safety. Coordinates and schedules line crews for construction, repair, and preventive maintenance work on overhead and underground facilities. Reviews field work to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with construction standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Ensures crews follow safety rules, switching and clearance procedures, and proper work methods while operating on energized and de-energized lines. Coordinates with system operations, engineering, and outside contractors to complete planned work and restore service during outages. Trains, mentors, and evaluates linemen and provides guidance on complex or hazardous field tasks. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. Supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. |
