Requirements and Responsibilities For Audiology Technician |
Supports an audiologist's diagnostic and treatment procedure by performing clinical and administrative tasks. Serves as the initial point of contact for the patient by providing patient intake and triaging, gathering patient information, and administering standardized tests or questionnaires. Performs preliminary screening duties including explaining procedures, preparing charts, and updating records. Collects and documents patient data and maintains files to ensure up-to-date record keeping. Monitors and verifies inventory levels and may assist with procuring, receiving, and stocking supplies. Prepares the room and equipment prior to appointments to ensure appointments are timely and remain on schedule. Cleans and disinfects instruments, equipment, and surfaces to ensure sanitary operations. Resolves and responds to patient inquiries and elevates complex questions as necessary. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. Works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. |
