| Requirements and Responsibilities For Assistant Athletics Director |
| Assists in overseeing the daily operations of a university/college athletic department. Responsible for implementing strategic plans for the university/college athletic programs. Assists in managing the public image of the athletic program, including media relations and promoting the program's achievements. Ensures the athletic program adheres to all relevant rules, regulations, and policies, including those set by the school, state, and the NCAA. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an athletics director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
